Debbie Pushor was the guest of honor at the YCDSB’s 9th Annual Catholic School Council Conference, “Partners in Catholic Education – A Spirit of Collaboration,” held Saturday, November 14 at Jean Vanier CHS in Richmond Hill. Debbie Pushor is an award-winning speaker and author in the areas of parent engagement and parent knowledge. She shared her valuable insights into the relationship between home, school and community. She also emphasized how powerful parent engagement can be, and the positive effects it can have on a child’s educational experience. Following the keynote address, council members enjoyed workshops on topic such as environmental education, student engagement and fundraising. Participants came away from the conference with new strategies to enrich their school communities.
